Many non-profits are struggling these days because of this horrible pandemic. The Emerald Club typically sponsors a variety of social events such as Galas, raffles, beer tent and holiday parties. Currently, that is not realistic. However, the need remains. For 63 years the Emerald Club has supported the vital work of the Mercy Centre and its population of adults with significant and life-long disabilities. Despite these very challenging disabilities many of the participants demonstrate great talent in the visual and performing arts. This is made possible by the expressive therapies programs that are subsidized by the Emerald Club.
We wish we could have a large social fundraiser to celebrate this work. We can’t wait for the days when we can resume those events. In the meantime, we, the members of the Emerald Club are reaching out to you in this “Direct Appeal” online effort to continue to support our work and the work of the Mercy Centre.
